Finally, an explanation of Menino's approval ratings
All the folks I know are scratching their heads, wondering why Mayor Menino has such high approval ratings. I thought it was because the average bear has no clue what he's doing.

But I think the Boston Globe's Sunday
piece on Menino's park coffee-klatches gives us a more profound insight. An older guy who's been Dunkin' with Tom for years had no complaints: "Where else can you go to get a coffee, a doughnut and a plant? You get something back for your taxes, right?"

Maybe Alexander Pope said it best in 1727: "Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed."
